Abu Dhabi airline gets a foothold in Perth market
Etihad Airways and Garuda Indonesia have begun codeshare flights between Jakarta and Perth.
The daily flights are operated by the Indonesian flag carrier.
The new services add an extra 2,184 seats each week to the Jakarta-Perth route.
James Hogan, Etihad Airways’ president and CEO, said the expanded codeshare with Garuda Indonesia on the Jakarta-Perth route "adds a new dimension to our partnership with Garuda Indonesia which has developed in a mutually beneficial way since its signing last October – particularly in terms of operational and cost efficiencies".
Flight GA724 / EY7126 will depart Jakarta at 1030 and will arrive in Perth at 1550 – a total journey time of five hours.
The return flight GA725 / EY7125 will depart Perth at 1740 and arrive in Jakarta at 2115 – a total journey time of 4.50 hours.
