Accommodation specialist slams prediction of DIY’s demise
Youtravel.com group managing director Graham Nichols said: "The comments from Nick Harris from Manchester-based law firm Simpson Millar are both incorrect and misleading, and are likely to cause even more confusion and panic.
"I have no idea how he can jump from the failure of Goldtrail, much of whose business was bonded, and somehow twist this into the demise of the entire dynamic packaging sector. It makes no sense at all."
Sales and marketing director Paul Riches said the team at youtravel.com is working with agent partners to ensure anyone impacted by the Goldtrail failure is rebooked as swiftly as possible.
He added: "There are some well-established, profitable and well-run businesses in this sector. The fact that there have been a few high-profile acquisitions in the sector by the mainstream operators and successful start-ups in the past four years, illustrates that this is a highly regarded, and one of the most innovative, elements of the travel industry."
