Advantage agents to control price in new DP system

Agents will be able to set their own prices and control their own commission levels in Advantage Travel Centres’ revamped dynamic packaging system.

The consortium said the move will allow its members to be more competitive, have complete flexibility and ultimately control their own destiny.

The new-look site will also contain an expanded range of product.

Head of development Ken McLeod said: “Agents will have complete flexibility over the pricing. Prices will default to a set commission level but they then have the option to either alter the cost of the holiday or the commission level. So if they want or need to, they can give away some of the commission by dropping the price to make a sale.

“It will allow agents to more effectively control their margins.”

The system will also throw up more flexible durations offering holidays from one night to 45. The previous system offered only three, five, seven and 14-night stays.

McLeod revealed the first version of Advantage4Holidays has generated sales worth around £100,000.
