Adventure World Announces New Group General Manager, Australia New Zealand
With Adventure World announcing the appointment of Carl Frier as Group General Manager, Australia and New Zealand, The Mole spotting Peter Newsom chatting with Carle Fier and another unidentified person last week in The Westin, Sydney all began to make sense!
Carl Frier will join the company effective mid July 2007, with responsibility for the overall future growth of Adventure World, while raising the profile of the company across the travel industry.
Adventure World Managing Director, Peter Newsom, said Carl will be joining the company at an important time, adding, “The recent NRMA acquisition of a majority interest of Adventure World has provided us with a solid platform from which to expand our operations, particularly strengthening our existing outbound market”.
“Carl’s extensive retail background and strong industry contacts make him an important part of Adventure World’s future direction.”
Formerly Executive General Manager Product of the Jetset Travelworld Group, Carl will bring with him more than 22 years of retail, airline and consolidation experience in the travel and tourism sector.
Adventure World destinations, ranging from Alaska and Brunei to Vietnam and Zambia, cover much of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Plans exist to add further popular destinations to the company’s repertoire.
Adventure World also operates as a GSA for a number of international companies, providing representation in Australia for Acacia Adventure Holidays, Cruise West, Brewster Canada, Dragoman Adventures, Drifters Adventure Tours, Explore Worldwide, G.A.P Adventures, Headwater Holidays, Rocky Mountaineer Rail Tours, and Trek America.
