AFTA Announces Annual Results
The Board of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) today announced its annual operating results for the year ended March 31, 2006.
The Federation has recorded an operating surplus of $29,827 for the year in question.
This result is an improvement of $232,483 on the previous year’s operation, although it was noted that the result for the previous year was a consequence of the financial failure of AFTA’s then event organiser.

· Accumulated Funds and Reserves now amount to $2,099,935.
· Cash at Bank has increased by $105,921 to $927,756.
· Administration Expenses decreased by $47,076 compared to the previous year.
· Membership Income increased by $66,703.
· Membership numbers increased by 300 agencies.
The Board expressed its appreciation for the ongoing support the Federation receives from the industry and has reaffirmed its commitment to focussing on issues which directly affect the business operations of the AFTA membership.
The Board of the Australian Federation of Travel Agents’ (AFTA) has also begun a search to fill the newly created position of General Manager.
