Agents can be ‘virtually’ in the Caribbean
The Caribbean Hotels website has launched virtual tours of Caribbean islands.
The internet marketing company, which takes bookings for around 500 hotels in the Caribbean has launched the virtual tour facility as an agency selling tool.
Agents can access the tours without registering, to familiarise themselves with the islands, or to show clients the attractions on the 30 featured islands. The tours include a walk through the Flower Forest in Barbados and a view of the Bermuda Aquarium.
Caribbean Hotels commercial director, Paul Samuda told TravelMole: “From our experience of the internet it is important to make it as user-friendly as possible. You would need a very thick brochure to cover all the tours of the islands that our website features.”
The website has worked with the local tourist boards to help promote the region in general, and features around 15 to 20 attractions on each island. Currently it features one hotel virtual tour, of the Blue Waters hotel in Antigua, but Mr Samuda said he expected to add more hotel tours in the New Year.
Agents that register with the website which claims to attract 3.5 million hits per month, can earn ten percent commission per booking. If an agent secures over £100,000 worth of bookings they earn an additional two percent.
