AIG partners with United Airlines for travel insurance
Global insurer American International Group (AIG) has penned an agreement with United Airlines to offer travel insurance to the airline’s customers.
It signed a multiyear deal to offer travel insurance products to customers in the US and 15 other countries.
New York based AIG has been the preferred travel insurance provider for several other airlines in the past.
AIG will offer cover for trip cancellation, loss of baggage and emergency medical services.
According to Jeff Rutledge, CEO at AIG Travel, its recent technology investments will assist ‘predictive analytics to enable AIG to bring robust data insight directly to the traveler’s insurance offer.’
"We are pleased to offer a full portfolio of travel insurance products and global assistance services to the millions of passengers who fly United Airlines each year," he said.
