Air Astana signs codeshare pact with China Southern Airlines
Kazakhstan based Air Astana has inked a codeshare agreement with China Southern Airlines.
The carriers will cooperate on multiple direct routes between Kazakhstan and China.
The codeshare includes flights from Almaty to Beijing, Urumqi, and Guangzhou, and from Astana to Beijing.
Likewise, China Southern Airlines will codeshare on its flights linking Beijing Daxing, Guangzhou, Urumqi, and Xian with Almaty, and service from Guangzhou and Urumqi to Astana.
Peter Foster, CEO of Air Astana Group, says the partnership aims to boost trade, tourism, and cultural engagement between the two countries.
China is a ‘strategically important market’ he says.
The codeshare arrangement allows customers of both airlines to book through ticketing on connecting flights between Kazakhstan and China.
