Air Canada postpones Haiti flights
Air Canada announced the immediate suspension of nonstop flights to Haiti.
The carrier halted the Montreal to Port-au-Prince route following the Canadian government’s updated travel advisory.
It advised all Canadians to avoid travel to the country which has been hit with violent civil unrest.
"There is an extreme risk to your personal safety and security," the advisory states.
"The security situation could further deteriorate quickly."
The airline has asked customers with confirmed reservations to get in contact or consult their travel advisor for refunds or to make alternate travel arrangements.
Air Canada said the service will be suspended until at least April 29.
Violent anti-government protests erupted earlier this month and continue to affect many parts of the country.
