Air China launching flights to Panama City via Houston
Air China will begin linking Beijing to Panama via its existing scheduled service to Houston.
Beginning on April 5, Air China’s Beijing-Houston-Panama City route will be operated by three-class extended range Boeing 777 aircraft.
It will run twice a week via Houston as an extension of the daily Beijing-Houston service.
The route follows the formal establishment last year of diplomatic relations between China and Panama.
Panama is China’s largest trading partner in Central America and air traffic between the two countries last year amounted to about 40,000 .
Air China operates more than200 weekly flights to a dozen destinations in the Americas including New York, Newark, Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco and Hawaii.
