Air France flight from Newcastle makes emergency landing
An Air France flight from Newcastle-Paris had to make a forced landing minutes into the journey because of a damaged windshield.
Air France confirmed on Twitter that it was a ‘normal procedure’ due to a minor technical problem of a ‘cracked windshield’.
Flight AF1059 left Newcastle at 11.50am today and was flying over the Peak District when the incident happened.
According to reports, a collision with a flock of birds is believed to have caused the damage. The airline returned to Newcastle Airport and the flight was cancelled.
