Air India pilots threaten to strike unless they get vaccinations
The Indian Commercial Pilots Association has warned that pilots at Air India could down tools if the airline fails to implement a vaccination rollout for flight crew. In a letter to Air India’s Director of Operations R S Sandhu the union said ‘pilots are risking their lives without a vaccination.’
It is an ‘ever-present occupational hazard’ it says, and if the airline doesn’t set up a vaccination program ‘we will stop work.’
It sees an ‘injustice’ that vaccinations have been provided for management and some some desk positions but not pilots.
