Air India to restart full international network by October
Air India is on track to restore its complete international network by the beginning of October, says CEO Campbell Wilson.
The phased restoration of the airline’s international operations began last week.
It expects full resumption by October 1.
It follows the ‘safety pause’ on operations in June after the deadly crash in Ahmedabad.
It also took time to take out of service and inspect Boeing aircraft following the crash
In an update to loyalty members, Wilson said: “With care and responsibility, we have begun a phased restoration of international operations, with full resumption targeted for October 1.”
“This measured approach ensures we complete every verification thoroughly and resume service with complete confidence.”
Comprehensive inspections of Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 aircraft were overseen by regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
“We confirm that no issues were found during these inspections.”
