Air NZ boosts LA route summer schedule
Air New Zealand will add an extra flight a day on its Auckland-Los Angeles route during next year’s northern hemisphere summer.
Between April to October a third flight will depart Auckland to LA on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, adding an extra 20% seat capacity.
The new flight will leave earlier from Auckland to enable same day onward connections to Midwest and East coast US cities.
"Frequent LA travelers told us they wanted to be able to arrive earlier, particularly when connecting to the US East Coast, now we are thrilled to now be able to offer this to our customers," said Air NZ commercial officer Cam Wallace.
The carrier also said it would increase capacity between Auckland and Vancouver by 10% adding to the current three flights a week to five between June and September.
It expects overall long haul capacity to grow by around 9% this year.
