AirAsia launching Bankok-Bangalore flights
Budget carrier Thai AirAsia plans to start flying between Bangkok and Bangalore, India from September 1.
The airline will operate five nonstop flights a week and is kicking off the route with a fare promotion at THB1,490 one way, available for online booking until July 5.
"I am confident our Bangkok-Bangalore direct flight will receive great interest as Bangalore is one of south India’s most important cities," said Thai AirAsia CEO Tassapon Bijleveld.
"Our new flight provides a great opportunity for both tourism and investment."
Known as India’s Silicon Valley, Bangalore is a major air hub and the country’s third most populous city.
India is a top 10 source market for inbound tourism to Thailand and Tassapon said the airline plans to further expand its network to India along with other Asia markets.
Thai AirAsia has launched a number of new routes from Bangkok this year including Nan, Loei, Roi Et and Buri Ram.
