AirAsia X launching new Tokyo route from KL
AirAsia X is planning to launch nonstop flights between Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo Narita Airport later this year.
Subject to approvals, the route will begin on November 20.
The airline already serves Tokyo sister airport Haneda with seven weekly flights as well as flying into Tokyo Narita from Bangkok.
The carrier is expecting high demand especially for next year’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
"Our guests can now fly from Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo, Japan, either through Narita Airport or Haneda Airport, giving them more flexibility on flight times and connectivity," said AirAsia X Malaysia CEO, Benyamin Ismail.
"These new services are in response to overwhelming consumer demand and ahead of what will be a big year for Tokyo tourism in 2020."
