Airbnb appoints UK & Ireland general manager
Airbnb has appointed James McClure as its new general manager for the UK and Ireland.
Previously Google’s head of emerging markets for Singapore and South East, McClure brings 10 years of experience in business development to the role.
His brief it to strengthen the brand’s presence in the UK market, both by driving supply and demand and driving ‘brand love’, the company said in a press release.
Commenting on the appointment, Olivier Grémillon, managing director EMEA at Airbnb, said: "We are steadily growing our business arm in the UK and James is a great addition to this team.
"His previous experience at Google gives him essential insight into what it takes to work for a fast-moving, innovative tech company."
McClure said: "Airbnb is one of the most exciting brands of the moment, changing the way people travel and a beacon of the sharing economy worldwide. I’m thrilled to be taking on this new role."
