Airline shares do well
There were several strong performances from travel and tourism shares yesterday as London’s main equity indices pushed ahead. The FTSE 100 index added 19.5 points to end the day at 4852.3, while the FTSE 250 gained 59.9 points to close at 7166.2. Ryanair did well, gaining 30p to end the day at 436p after releasing positive results yesterday, and British Airways also did well, putting on 5.75p to close at 265.75p. EasyJet followed suit, closing at 220p, up 4.75p.
