Airport worker dead after being sucked into aircraft engine
Another airport worker has died after being ingested into an aircraft’s engine.
It happened at San Antonio Airport shortly after a Delta flight landed.
The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating.
“The NTSB has been in contact with Delta. They are in the information gathering process at this point,” the NTSB said.
The yet to be named worker was a ramp agent working for contractor Unifi Aviation.
It mirrors a similar incident at Montgomery Regional Airport, Alabama, in late December 2022.
Airport worker Courtney Edwards died after being sucked into an aircraft engine.
American Airlines affiliate Piedmont Airlines was fined by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) for the tragic accident.
