AITO to hold conference in Croatia

Thursday, 30 Apr, 2004 0

Croatia is to host this year’s annual conference of the Association of Independent Tour Operators.

The event is being held in Dubrovnik on 18-21 November – sandwiched between World Travel Market in London the previous week and the ABTA Convention in Orlando the week after.

AITO chairman Martin Garland (Expressions Holidays) said he expected interest in the event to be high.

“Croatia is a particularly fascinating and diverse destination, as was Sri Lanka last year, and we are looking forward to another productive and stimulating conference.”

Croatian National Tourist Board acting UK director Josip Lozic said: “A conference of this size and stature reflects just how much Croatia has arrived. The city is very excited to be hosting those that are so important to the development of tourism in Croatia.”

Mr Garland stands down as chairman of the organisation in September, to be succeeded by Richard Hearn (Inntravel).
