Alaska Air Group appoints new safety and security VP
Alaska Air Group’s board has named Max Tidwell as new vice president of safety and security for the Alaska Air Group and Alaska Airlines.
Tidwell replaces Tom Nunn who will continue as Alaska Airlines VP of safety until he steps down and retires in June.
Tidwell is responsible for all safety related functions, and developing safety and security strategies.
He brings to the position 22 years of experience at the FAA, where among other roles, he was manager for Seattle, where he worked with Alaska Airlines.
He is a 30-year veteran of the Air Force and serves as command chief for the Washington Air National Guard.
"The safety of our guests and our people is our number one priority and Max is extremely well suited to continue to deepen our safety culture," said Brad Tilden, chairman and CEO of Alaska Air Group.
