Alaska Airlines launching Seattle-JFK flights in September
Alaska Airlines will start daily nonstop flights from its Seattle hub to New York’s JFK Airport from September 16.
The new service will join Alaska’s existing twice-daily flights to Newark Liberty International Airport.
Ahead of the launch, the carrier is offering customers the chance to win a weekend in New York City.
The ‘Weekend in New York’ sweepstakes has been launched on the airline’s Facebook page and is open to residents of Alaska, Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
“Our new service to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport provides greater access to the nation’s largest market,” said John Kirby, Alaska’s vice president of capacity planning.
Alaska last week also expressed interest in flying coast-to-coast from New York’s LaGuardia Airport if the so-called ‘perimeter rule’ banning long haul flights is relaxed at the airport.
