Alaska Airlines will launch eight new routes from Paine Field
Alaska Airlines has announced more flight options for Seattle area travelers but without the crowds at Sea-Tac Airport.
The carrier has confirmed it will serve eight destinations at small scale Paine Field Airport, north of Seattle.
It will initially operate 13 daily flights to eight cities – Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco and San Jose in California and to Las Vegas, Portland and Phoenix.
Full flight schedules and launch date details are to follow as the airport’s new passenger terminal is still under construction.
Flights will be operated by Alaska’s regional subsidiary Horizon Air using 76-seater Embraer E175 aircraft.
"We’re proud to become the anchor tenant of the new terminal at Paine Field. With so many new possibilities for business and leisure travel, we believe this will bring increased opportunities to our communities," Alaska’s chief commercial officer Andrew Harrison said.
Paine Field, Everett is also home to Boeing’s main aircraft manufacturing plant.
United Airlines last year announced it will serve the airport with six daily flights to Denver and San Francisco.
Work on Paine Field’s all-new terminal will be completed by July and the first flights are expected to start the following month.
