Already been there? Try it again
Could “Vacation Do-Overs” be a travel trend? Barbara Messing, vice president of www.Travel-Ticker.com, thinks so.
What she is talking about is returning to cities that travelers have already visited. “You can experience all a city has to offer, taking advantage of inspiring activities, without having to persevere through the annoying learning curve associated with visiting a new place,” she says.
She cites five top areas for a return:
1) South Beach in Miami. Swimming pools, lounge pillows, private cabanas are everywhere. The South Beach Mondrian Hotel offers its lowest rates ever.
2) Vegas for the casinos and not the conventions. The Luxor has a five-acre pool oasis and huge whirlpool.
3 LA. The Beverly Hilton has a $115 rate including weekends. Highlights are Trader Vic’s Lounge and a health spa.
4. New York City. Visit the Statue of Liberty, see the Yankees or Mets (both of which have new stadiums), Jay Z’s 40-40 club is hot.
5. Cancun to relive spring break. TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice named it “Best Luxury — World, Caribbean” and “Best for Romance — World” and “Best All-inclusive World.
