Quarantine-free travel for fully vaccinated travellers could be approved before the end of the month.

The Times reports it could be given the green light to start by 26 July., citing a government official.

This is at the start of the busy school holiday period.

As previously reported by TravelMole, a decision with the EU about recognising the NHS app for travel is close.

It means EU member states would recognise the NHS app as a vaccine passport for travel, as well as additional Covid test status for countries that require it.

The agreement would exempt fully vaccinated people from quarantine when returning from a holiday in amber-list countries.

"No final decision has been made on timing yet. There are various issues that need to be worked through and we are waiting for public health advice," a government spokesperson said.

It would initially only apply to UK residents registerd with the NHS but would later be extended to all EU citizens.
