American Airlines, BA offering free Covid tests
British Airways and American Airlines in collaboration with American Express will provide free Covid tests to business travellers on UK – US transatlantic routes.
From next year, business travelers in premium seats on American Airlines and British Airways flights booked through American Express Global Business Travel will get free tests kits delivered to them before departure.
The airlines are partnering with test provider Qured.
The rapid antigen tests produce a result in just 20 minutes and approved by both the US and UK governments.
"We’re eager to give our mutual customers peace of mind that they will have what they need to fulfill an important requirement as they return to conducting business, " said Mark Muren, head of global sales at British Airways.
"Ensuring corporate travelers have access to efficient, accurate testing is one of the key components to ramping up business travel across the transatlantic corridor," Muren added.
Passengers testing negative will get verification that they can fly, which must be shown at the airport or uploaded to the VeriFly app.
