American will sell ‘Preferred’ through Priceline
American Airlines has announced that it will use Priceline.com to sell Preferred Seats—those seats customers used to be able to get for free just by asking nicely prior to boarding.
The airline will kick off the connection by offering a 25 percent discount off its normal price for the option of a Preferred Seat. The promotion will continue through August 5 on AA.com and Priceline.com.
"This offer is a testament to how customers win when American can choose to distribute its product via less expensive and more capable technology," said Cory Garner, American’s managing director of sales operations and distribution.
The discount offer is also available through AA.com mobile, self-service check-In machines and AA Reservations.
