Amex credit card launches programs for travel agents
To ensure that agents have instant access to the latest information regarding American Express Card offers that are available to consumers, the company has begun a program that aggregates dozens of exclusive supplier offers and posts them on its travel agent website www.americanexpress.com/travelprofessional.
In combination with these special offers, American Express has also introduced a new program that rewards agents for eligible bookings which also include choice of up to a $100 American Express(R) Gift Card, 10,000 Membership Rewards points or a special gift item, based on the dollar value of each booking.
By leveraging its relationships with some of the industry’s leading travel suppliers, American Express has created a unique array of more than 50 travel packages ranging from luxury hotel upgrades, resort and ship credits to special access to unique amenities and experiences. These offers are bookable by all travel agents.
A complementary website for consumers, www.mylifemycard.com/myvacation, includes a tool to provide American Express Cardmembers information about the benefits of booking with a travel professional and access to a travel agency locator tool hosted by International Airlines Travel Agent Network (IATAN.)
“We found that agents often weren’t aware of the many offers that were being made directly to Cardmembers,” explained Carlos Dafonte, vice president, Travel Industry Relations Establishment Services, American Express. “With this information now readily available on our website, agents will be able to better offer advice and deliver considerably more value to all their customers who carry an American Express Card.”
