ANA resuming Sydney flights
Japanese carrier All Nippon Airways plans to resume flights to Sydney after more than a 15-year gap.
It said it would restart daily overnight Tokyo Haneda-Sydney flights beginning December 11, served by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
The planes are configured with 48 business, 21 premium economy and 146 economy seats.
"Our most comfortable seating and the optimised in-cabin humidity and air pressure of Boeing’s 787-9 Dreamliner should be especially good news for overnight travellers," said ANA chief executive Osamu Shinobe.
"We are thrilled to be expanding our footprint in Oceania and offering our passengers additional options and convenient connections through Haneda Airport."
"Japan has been Sydney’s fastest growing international destination for Australians over the past three years, so this new service will also offer more choice to Australians," said Sydney Airport CEO Kerrie Mather.
Reservations for the service will open in August, ANA said.
Sydney is the fourth addition to its route network announced this year after Houston, Kuala Lumpur and Brussels.
