AOT launches third brand in New Zealand
Leading travel company the AOT Group is strengthening its presence in New Zealand with the introduction of its third Australian wholesale brand into the tourism market, New South Wales Holidays.
The launch of New South Wales Holidays follows the successful launch of the group’s burgeoning TravelPoint brand, which offers a broad range of product to destinations throughout South Australia, Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory, last month. Its other brand, the successful Sunlover Holidays, which specialises in Queensland holidays, was introduced into New Zealand in 1994.
New South Wales Holidays is a well established brand, having been operating in Australia since 1996. The brand has been operated by the AOT Group under license from the New South Wales government since 2004.
The brand offers complete holiday solutions to all parts of New South Wales, including Sydney, the Blue Mountains, the outback and the coast. It also offers New Zealanders the opportunity to experience the nation’s capital, Canberra.
Managing Director of AOT’s wholesale division, Paul Scurrah, is confident the brand will also do well in New Zealand.
“The launch of New South Wales Holidays into the New Zealand marketplace means that the group now has New Zealanders’ Australian holiday needs covered,” he said.
“New Zealand’s niche markets are growing, however, there has previously been a lack of quality Australian product in the marketplace – but not any more.
“Putting the weight of our extensive product range together under our three respected and comprehensive wholesale brands will not only meet these needs but I firmly believe increase demand in the industry and boost the profile of Australia as a sought-after destination.”
Demonstrating its commitment to the New Zealand marketplace, the group recently doubled its sales team in the region.
The expansion is expected to diversify Australian travel product currently available in the travel market.
Mr Scurrah said the introduction of New South Wales Holidays into the New Zealand market was integral to AOT’s campaign which is focused on increasing exposure via improvements in service, offers and distribution.
The wholesale division of AOT includes Sunlover Holidays, New South Wales Holidays and TravelPoint.
