APT reveals names of three new Travelmarvel ships
APT has revealed the names of their three new Travelmarvel river ships, which will be called Polaris, Vega and Capella.
They were chosen by Amanda Poeppmann from Queensland, Australia, who entered a competition to name Travelmarvel’s new Contemporary Class ships.
APT UK & Europe MD Paul Melinis said: This is the first time we’ve run a competition of this nature globally and we were inundated with entries, giving us a plethora of names to choose from. The chosen names really capture the spirit of APT Travelmarvel, taking after three of the brightest stars in the night sky, a true reflection of the delight our brands leave behind."
Travelmarvel Polaris will launch in April 2020 operating on APT’s Essential European Gems route sailing from Budapest to Amsterdam. Her two sister ships Vega and Capella will launch in April 2021.
The 91-cabin ships will feature a restaurant on the main deck and a Vista Lounge on the upper deck, with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows. The adjacent Alfresco Lounge will boast bi-folding windows opening out to the front verandah, allowing outdoor access. There will also be a McGeary’s Bar for more casual dining and socialising.
On the top deck, there will be a rooftop bar, terrace lounge and heated whirlpool.
