Arrest made after gun fired at airport
One person was detained after a gun was fired inside the terminal at Montgomery Regional Airport in Alabama.
The suspect was taken into in custody but no charges have yet been announced.
The airport said one shot was fired at a TSA security checkpoint which was closed at the time.
“We are grateful for the swift response from our local law enforcement, which ensured the safety of everyone at the airport,” said Wade A. Davis, C.M. MGM Executive Director.
“We are committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for all passengers.”
No injuries were reported.
The only report of damage was to a glass window, the airport said.
It happened early in the morning with no disruption to operations.
Montgomery Regional Airport is served by American Airlines and Delta Airlines which fly to Atlanta, Charlotte, N.C.; Dallas- and Washington, D.C.
The shooting suspect has not been publicly named yet.
