ASPIRE and STEPS to join forces

Friday, 21 Aug, 2006 0

ASPIRE, the two-day event for travel and tourism students, is to be held jointly with the Spanish Tourism Exchange for Professionals (STEPS).

They will run at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London on March 28-29, 2007.

The dates of ASPIRE, run by the Institute of Travel & Tourism, have unintentionally clashed with STEPS – organised by the Spanish Tourist Office – for the past three years.

“As both events are aimed at the travel industry, it seemed sensible to join forces, so that’s exactly what we’ve done,” an ITT statement said.

STEPS organiser Ignacio Vasallo, UK Director of the Spanish Tourist Office, said: “We are delighted that ASPIRE is joining forces during STEPS 2007, especially as we feel it is of great importance to support the younger generation, who will one day form the future of the travel industry.”

The event will be moderated by Simon Calder, travel editor of The Independent.
