Australian bound aircraft from S America forced back to NZ …………..
An AAP report says that more than 170 air passengers have been flown to Australia from New Zealand on a rival airline after a mechanical problem on their Argentine Airbus.
The Aerolineus Argentinas Airbus A340 was about 30 minutes out of Auckland on a flight to Sydney on Sunday when it developed a mechanical problem, possibly in a wing flap.
The aircraft returned to Auckland and the 170 passengers were flown to Sydney on Air New Zealand flights.
