Avro finds commercial director
Avro has appointed a TV Travel Shop director to its number two operational role. Michael Vinales, currently a product director at TV Travel Shop, will join Avro on 13 April. He will report to managing director, Andrew Nicholson. Mr Nicholson told TravelMole: “We have always felt at Avro – and this is long before I joined – that there is a need to have someone at the commercial helm as it is such an important part of the business. “We have to make sure we are providing travel agents – who are still are key outlet – with the right product at the right time and at the right price. Michael has a formidable track record and we’re looking forward to having him on board.” Mr Vinales has also had roles with Thomas Cook, JMC and Sunworld. He takes over from John Fitzgerald who left Avro over a month ago to pursue another career path, according to an Avro spokeswoman. Report by Ginny McGrath
