AWTE lunch kicks off travel industry festivities
The travel industry’s festive social season kicked off this week with the annual Association of Women Travel Executives (AWTE) Christmas Lunch.
More than 350 men and women gathered at the London Marriott, Grosvenor Square, for the lunch, sponsored by Feefo.
Feefo’s Matt Eames and Andy Mabbutt, in festive fancy dress, ran an auction which helped raise £9,089 for this year’s chosen charity, Small Steps, which provides specialist help and support to parents with physically disabled children.
Meanwhile, the AWTE’s Benevolent annual Christmas raffle raised £3,900 to help support AWTE members during difficult times.
Entertainment included a live Steel Band, sponsored by Attraction World and Travlaw, welcome entertainment sponsored by Seabourn, and finished with the annual festive carol sing-along.
Guest speaker Margherita Taylor, bought to AWTE by Global Media and Entertainment, highlighted the importance of networking saying how a chance encounter at an event like this or even in a lift can lead to something positive.
