BA confirms Concorde mile-high shenanigans
UK: But airline press office denies boss turned blind eye to in-flight romp
British Airways has confirmed that a Spanish couple DID join the mile-high club in the cabin of Concorde, but deny reports that its chief executive was just three rows behind the pair.
The Sun today reports that the couple claim they had sex under a blanket, and that even though a stewardess told Rod Eddington what was going on, he merely smiled and said “let them enjoy themselves”. The incident allegedly took place half way through flight BA001 from London to New York, and though the couple reportedly “tried to be discreet”, passengers told the newspaper that the crew soon knew what was going on.
A spokesman for the airline confirmed to News From Abroad that an “incident” had taken place, adding: “We certainly want the last few months of Concorde to be a celebration – but this pair celebrated a bit more than we expected. We only hope the earth moved for them at twice the speed of sound.”
However, the airline’s press office was not able to confirm that Mr Eddington was on board – or that he adopted such a laisser faire attitude to the couple’s antics.
