BA flight makes emergency call as it comes into Heathrow
A British Airways flight from Nice to Heathrow declared an emergency just as it was coming into the London airport yesterday (Monday).
Flightrader24 tweeted that a 7700 ’emergency’ alert had been made from Flight BA343 at 1.08pm. The flight was due to land at 1.30.
Reports then emerged that the emergency related to a landing gear problem, as the A320 circled London.
Emergency services were waiting for the aircraft, but it landed without any problems.
A BA spokeswoman said today: "Our flight landed safely after a suspected technical issue.
"The safety of our customers and crew is always our first priority and the aircraft will be checked by our engineers before returning to service.
"It’s in the hands of our engineers to make sure its absolutely tip top."
