BA increases Club World capacity in £100m revamp
A new business class flat bed has been unveiled by British Airways as part of a £100 million overhaul of Club World.
The long awaited revamp features a bed 25% wider than the existing seat, claiming to offer more privacy and storage space. BA first introduced flat beds for business class passengers six years ago
The airline is introducing the new-look Club World over 18 months from the end of November across its fleet of 57 Boeing 747s and 43 777s.
A major overhaul of BA first class is also planned.
The Club World enhancements include a new cabin interior featring the six feet long beds, improved in-flight entertainment and laptop locker.
BA chief executive Willie Walsh said: “Our premium cains are our most profitable segment and we are re-configuring our aircraft to increase Club World capacity by eight per cent, moving from 38 to 52 seats on some of our Boeing 747 aircraft.”
