BA report premium traffic growth

The growth in British Airways premium business continued to outstrip economy as it announced its November traffic figures.

Premium traffic increased 12% in the month, compared to 5.2% in economy.

The figures emerged shortly after the carrier revealed plan to spend £100 million on its long haul business class cabins.

Africa and the Middle East showed the strongest passenger growth of 9.5% followed by Asia with 8.4% and the Americas with 5.4%.

Volumes to UK and Europe fell 1.1%.

Passenger revenues to Africa and the Middle East and Asia climbed 9.9% and 9.3% respectively.
