BA reveals most popular seats

British Airways has revealed the most popular seats on its long-haul Boeing 747 flights.

The most sought-after in economy are seats 51/52B, 51/52C 51/52H and 51/52J.

This is not really surprising as these are some of the only twin seats in World Traveller and seats 51/52B and 51/52J have extra legroom instead of a window.

Row 53 is the only other one on the aircraft with twin seats, but these feel cramped as they are right at the back where the fuselage narrows.

BA also found that passengers who pre-book seats at the front of a cabin prefer aisle seats, presumably because they are looking to make a hasty exit, whereas those who sit at the back prefer a window.

Window seats are 6% more popular than aisle seats and the right hand side of the aircraft (facing the cockpit) is slightly more popular than the left.

Unsurprisingly, the most popular seats in First class are the two right at the front, 1A and 1K, and in Club World (business class), the upper deck is the most popular, especially with regular travellers who snap up seats 62A and K, which have extra legroom, and 64A and K right at the back.
