BA set for week-long strike
British Airways has confirmed the cancellation of some of its Heathrow flights as its cabin crew start a week-long strike.
Industrial action by the airline’s mixed fleet crew is due to start today (Friday).
BA said the vast majority of flights to and from London Heathrow will operate as normal but a ‘very small number’ will be merged on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
It said contingency plans for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday would be published on Monday.
"Please do not call our contact centres as at this stage they will not be able to provide any more details than are contained here," it told passengers.
This latest action will bring the total number of strike days to 26.
Unite, the union representing the crew, says the week-long walk-out demonstrates their determination to achieve a fair deal on pay in the face of BA’s ‘bully boy tactics’.
