Bali croc park snapped shut
A crocodile park has been closed in Bali and its owner detained after a raid by a conservation agency.
The breeding farm and tourist attraction didn’t have a licence to operate and was treating the crocodiles badly, the Jakarta Globe reported.
The park was also accused of having poor safety equipment to protect visitors.
The agency confiscated 72 crocodiles, including several endangered species, from the Reptile Jaya Park that has been operating without proper licences.
The Jakarta Globe quoted a conservation official as saying, "The crocodiles were treated inhumanely. A number of them are injured. We suspect something is going on, especially with us finding a crocodile skeleton."
