Bali Weddings International heads for best season for 2 years
While cautiously celebrating what is shaping up to be its busiest May to August wedding season in more than two years, Bali Weddings International (BWI) has released a new special deal offering a choice of free photography or floral arrangements across its entire product range.
BWI owner Katrina Simorgankir said the increased Australian arrival figures for January and February 2007^ and the best forward bookings “we have seen for months and months” all point to what she and other operators hope will be a slow but steady return to business for Bali.
The BWI offer, the choice of one free roll of photographic stills or free orchid and frangipani bouquets, applies to all the company’s various wedding packages and commitment ceremonies.
All clients booking a Legal or Balinese Blessing ceremony will receive one free roll of still photography (film and negatives) with all 36 shots taken by a professional photographer, printed in 4R size and delivered with all negatives.
All clients booking a Religious or Commitment ceremony will receive a complimentary fresh orchid and frangipani flower bouquet and buttonhole.*
Please note the special applies to all wedding packages booked before 15 May, 2007 but irrespective of when travelled.
“Bali’s dry season traditionally begins in April when we can almost guarantee excellent weather and gentle sea breezes. This means lower humidity so obviously it’s ideal for an outdoor wedding, ceremony, reception or event,” Ms Simorangkir said.
Ms Simorangkir said that while her Australian business was slowly picking up, Bali was very much in vogue with many other nationalities, particularly Americans, British, Irish, New Zealanders and Swedes, all of whom were returning to Bali in much stronger numbers than their Australian counterparts.
“Australian couples looking to get married in Bali and people wishing to organise a special even this year need to act fairly quickly or they’ll miss out,” she said.
Australian-owned and employing several Western wedding consultants, BWI has, since its inception in 1992, become Bali’s biggest wedding and event organiser and has played a major role in helping to build the destination’s romantic travel market.
The company also owns and operates a purpose-built ‘Bali Bridal Boutique’ in Sanur complete with reception, lounge and change rooms.

^Figures released by the Indonesian Government show Australian visitor arrivals to Bali for January and February 2007 increased by 35% and 62%, respectively, over the same period in 2006.
