Barclays banks on British Travel Awards
A record number of sponsors and trade partners, including Barclays, have agreed to back this year’s British Travel Awards.
With trade and consumer voting now well underway, votes are streaming in from the trade thanks to FMS agency visits, e-broadcasts to agency groups via trade partners, and calls to action via WTM, ITT, TravelMole and TATC.
Targeted media campaigns are rolling out to gather opinions from the travelling public with more than £250,000 worth of commitment attributed to The British Travel Awards via consumer media partners The Sunday Times, Yahoo, CBS Outdoor and Sky Travel Shop TV.
The British Travel Awards are not only seen by the industry as the clear winner when it comes to accolades for excellence in travel – they are also recognised by consumers as an indicator of which travel companies are doing their best to provide consistently good service and standards.
This is why Barclays have decided to support The British Travel Awards this year.
Chris Lee, head of the travel sector at Barclays, said: “Barclays Travel Team is delighted to be sponsoring the British Travel Awards as we believe that they are the No 1 awards for the industry and set the benchmark by recognising and highlighting the very best companies.
“Barclays supports a large proportion of the UK’s leading travel businesses and supporting these awards reinforces our ongoing commitment to the industry.”
P&O Ferries, The Triton Group, Island Cruises, Sandals, GulliversTravel Associates, Thomas Cook, Enjoy England, Hotels4U, Cadogan Holidays, Avis, Advantage, Port Aventura and DoSomethingDifferent.com are among trade supporters for this year’s awards being held on November 15 in London.
Ian Coyle, newly-appointed commercial director at DoSomethingDifferent.com, said: “Sponsorship of The British Travel Awards is a great way to show our support of the industry.
“We believe that what you do on holiday is more important than how you travel and with over 1,000 holiday experiences, tours and attractions worldwide, DoSomethingDifferent.com has the product to help make the travelling customers’ holiday experience truly memorable.
“By offering trade partners White Label, XML, Affiliate and Log In solutions, we can help to enhance the product offering and unique content of our industry partners’ own websites. Supporting The British Travel Awards is a great platform for DoSomethingDifferent.com and we are looking forward to a fantastic night with our industry colleagues on November 15.”
The British Travel Awards take place on the last night of World Travel Market and will recognise the best companies in travel at a ceremony at Battersea Evolution in Battersea Park. The event will continue its support of the global charity, “Just A Drop”.
