Bean buzz better than sex, say hotel guests
Sex or coffee as a wake-up call?
A survey by Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts has found that a cup of coffee surpasses a little undercover action as the morning pick-me-up for 53% of respondents.
The global study of coffee drinkers and frequent travellers in six countries also found that 78% of coffee drinkers would rather give up alcohol, social media or sex with their spouse for a year rather than forfeit coffee – proving that a bean buzz remains the ultimate high.
And 73% of people surveyed would sacrifice in-room TVs and Internet access for the perfect cup of coffee.
Guests staying at Le Meridien properties will soon put this theory to the test, as the hotel chain rolls out its Master Barista Programme, installing a coffee expert at each of its properties by end of year.
