Belfast City Airport to be re-named after George Best
Belfast City Airport is to be renamed George Best Airport in memory of the Northern Ireland football legend who died last November.
The name change will take place on May 22, which would have been Best’s 60th birthday.
The airport’s chief executive Bran Ambrose was quoted by the BBC as saying: “We believe that renaming the airport after George is a fitting and permanent tribute to his footballing brilliance.”
