Blastland joins online agency
Dermot Blastland is to join On the Beach as non-executive director.
The former managing director of Tui Travel UK and Ireland and First Choice left in 2010 after 22 years.
Blastland said: “Simon (chief executive Simon Cooper) is young and it’s good to get involved with somebody who has built their business from scratch.”
He said he was looking at other non-executive roles with companies inside and outside of the travel industry.
“I took some advice from the non-execs at TUI and they said to make sure you like the people and that you can add value,” he added.
On the Beach chief executive Simon Cooper added: “We are delighted that Dermot will be joining On the Beach. Dermot is an expert in his field and with his knowledge and experience in the industry, I have no doubt that he will be a valuable addition to the board.â€
