Bmi Mumbai flights go daily
Bmi is increasing the frequency of its Heathrow-Mumbai service from four flights a week to a daily connection.
The capacity rise from Saturday comes almost a year since the carrier introduced the route as its first long haul service from the London hub.
Flights are operated by Airbus A330 aircraft in a three-class configuration.
Airline CEO Nigel Turner said: “Just one year ago, the Mumbai route entered the bmi history books by becoming our first ever long haul route from London Heathrow and we have been thoroughly encouraged by this very positive start. Our service has been warmly welcomed by the discerning traveller who has a strong desire for quality and choice.
“As we increase our operation to a daily service, we will further establish our presence and reputation in the Indian market whilst at the same time enhance our long haul profile at London Heathrow. Our willingness and desire to provide much needed competition on other long haul routes from Heathrow in the future remains determined.”
