Booster jabs to be added to NHS app
PM Boris Johnson confirmed booster jabs will be added to the NHS app.
The app is being updated to display booster jab and Johnson said a booster for travel will be to ‘important’ as ore countries put an expiry on regular vaccinations.
"If anybody wants to travel, you can see that getting vaccinated with a booster will make your life easier for foreign travel. If you’re thinking about that, this is yet another reason to get it done," Johnson said at a Downing Street press conference.
"It’s very clear that getting three jabs will become an important fact and it will make life easier for you in all sorts of ways."
"The booster massively increases your protection. It takes it right back up to over 90%."
Croatia, Austria and Switzerland are among countries placing a limit the validity of vaccinations.
Johnson also said the booster roll-out will be ramped to allow those aged 40 to 49 book their third dose.
Boosters are already available for over-50s.
Nearly 13 million people across the UK have already received a booster.
